The founders
of Discovering New Heights are parents of two children,
one of whom has cerebral palsy. Their first experience with
intensive physical therapy was in 2003. After many years of
traditional physical and occupational therapy, they decided
to try an intensive program in Michigan. At the end of the program
they were excited to see that their daughter was standing taller
with less flexion in her hips and knees. Her range of motion
improved and greater independence was seen in transfers. The
benefits of intensive physical therapy and the milestones reached
by their daughter have inspired them to bring this therapy to
other families with special needs. As parents and caregivers
we know that all children have great potential to improve their
quality of life. |
